Dental Core

 Take a bite into your future with hands-on, project-based learning.  Learn how to assist the dentist in direct patient care.

You will learn about dental tools and equipment, including how to identify them, explain their functions, and sterilize them. Gain chair-side skills and learn how to prepare equipment for dental exams, general office procedures, and emergency procedures.

Dental Core trains students in the foundation knowledge and skills to provide entry-level patient care.  Students learn chair side procedures, radiographic procedures, sterilization, dental laboratory procedures, equipment care and preparation, patient education, general office procedures, and emergency procedures.

    This course integrates the California Career Technical Education Model Curriculum Standards, which are aligned to the Common Core State Standards. Instruction reinforces core skills in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics.
