North Orange County ROP Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to our 2020 Teacher of the Year, Mr. Reid Petersen! He has taught the Design, Visual, and Media Arts Pathway at El Camino Real High School in the Placentia Yorba Linda Unified School District since beginning his career in July of 2010.
In addition to being an exemplary teacher, Reid has served as a Professional Learning Community Lead Teacher, ROP staff development workshop presenter, and CTE Conference workshop presenter. Reid credits his students for making him the teacher he is. He stated, "my students are the best and they are the reason I love my job!"
Reid was honored at our February Board of Trustees meeting.

Career Technical Student Organization Showcase
During the February Board of Trustees meeting, North Orange County ROP held its annual Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Showcase. Nearly 100 students and their instructors/advisors from our five partner districts and adult, fee-based programs represented the following career pathways and organizations:

BOUSD Instagram Takeover
Brea Olinda Unified School District celebrated Career Technical Education month by giving an opportunity for North Orange County ROP students to do an "Instagram Takeover."
Students in our Patient Care Pathway and Residential and Commercial Construction Pathway took viewers on a tour of their classrooms, provided information on a typical day in the class, and interviewed other students about the skills they've learned.
